The Scottish independence referendum

The following is not meant to be the usal heartfelt appel, made shortly before a vote to convince undecided voters to lean in favor. This is meant to reason with the idea of responsability.

First ew need to look at how we got here.
Over the years I have learned that democracy is not necessarily synonymus with peace, freedom, well-being and indeed most of the time it is a tool that stifles rather promotes these issues. And often when dissent arrises the State interferes inappropriately causing hostility and conflict.

The Scottish referendum for indipendence is a great opportunity to counter these issues.

And more then anything it is a chance for the Scottish people to express their view peacefully and gain full recognition as individuals; 

until today they have lived as a "de facto" Nation, denied the existence of a differnt culture, language and customs.

(And if the Scots decide to remove their own politic-burocratic apparatus in favor of voluntary relations between free subjects it would be even better.)

That said, now I want do develop the theme of responsability, in which the Scots, have been called to answer. In fact, they should know that not all people who aspire to these freedoms are granted a chance to express themselves. In many other European countries referendums have been denied, such as in Catalonia and in Veneto.

So my advice is to vote and vote Yes!

In this way the Scots will not only decide for themselves how to run theri community, but we also commit an act of liberation for all those people who can not yet vote. And this could therefore trigger a domino effect setting a precedent that is unlikely to be forgotten by history.

They will create a solidarity with those who find themselves in the same situation but who have the misfortune of having goverments that are not willing to allow a vote.

This bears a heavy responsability on the Scots that decide to vote No, as they will condemn there people to suffer decisions taken by others and condemn others to remain in a state of helplessness.

An act of liberation requires strength and courage, and so I urge you to knock on doors and convince your brethren to vote Yes, we can not vote for you but you can be an example for us to follow!

Quello di seguito non vuole essere il solito appello accorato che si fa poco prima del voto per convincere indecisi o contrari a votare a favore. 

Questo vuole essere un ragionamento che voglio sviluppare sul tema della responsabilità.

Prima però è necessario fare una premessa.

Con il passare degli anni ho imparato che la democrazia non è sinonimo di pace, libertà, benessere anzi, il più delle volte è uno strumento che soffoca queste possibilità e se nei consociati cresce il dissenso verso l'ingerenza dello Stato nelle loro vite, vengono combattuti aspramente e talvolta utilizzando anche la coercizione.

L'occasione del referendum Scozzese rappresenta una possibilità pacifica per esprimere la propria opinione ed ancora di più (votando Sì) il pieno riconoscimento dell'individuo;

fino ad oggi negando uno status "de facto" come la Nazione Scozzese si negava l'esistenza di una differente cultura, lingua, usi e costumi.

(Se poi gli Scozzesi decideranno di eliminare anche il proprio apparato politico-burocratico in favore di rapporti volontari tra soggetti liberi ancora meglio per loro, ma per adesso è bene procedere un passo alla volta)

Detto questo, voglio sviluppare adesso il tema della responsabilità, a cui gli Scozzesi sono chiamati.

Infatti questi devono sapere che non a tutti i popoli che ambiscono alla libertà vengono concesse queste possibilità di esprimersi. Ad esempio in altri Paesi Europei vengono negati i referendum  come è già avvenuto in Catalogna ed in Veneto.

Pertanto il mio consiglio è di andare al voto e votare Sì, visto che si ha la possibilità per farlo.

In questo modo non solo gli Scozzesi potranno decidere in prima persona come gestire la propria comunità ma compieranno un atto di liberazione anche per gli altri popoli che gli è stata negata la possibilità di votare.

Insomma sarà come innescare un effetto domino creando un precedente che difficilmente verrà dimenticato dalla Storia e solidarizzando anche con chi si trova nella stessa situazione ma che ha la sfortuna di avere un Governo che non è disposto a far votare e che preferisce silenziare il dissenso.

Dunque sugli Scozzesi grava una pesante responsabilità se non voteranno a favore si condanneranno a subire decisioni prese da altri e condanneranno anche gli altri a rimanere in una condizione di disagio.

Un atto di liberazione richiede sempre forza e coraggio, io vi esorto a trovarli e di andare decisi a votare Sì, noi non possiamo votare per voi, ma voi potete essere d'esempio per tanti!
